President - Bert Hill

Bert Hill is the co-founder of BAHAMA Consulting, a 15 year old HIT consulting firm serving hospitals nation-wide.

Bert has work in the Information Technology space for over 30 years. He has worked in various capacities from Partner, Project Manager, Business Development, Recruiter, to Programmer Analyst. He has worked in various industry verticals with the last 10 plus being in Healthcare. Bert Hill and BAHAMA Consulting are committed to increasing the quality of care and reducing the cost of Healthcare. Mr. Hill has a degree from DeVry Lombard.

President Elect - Betsy Keenan-Brown

Betsy has spent the past 15 years in healthcare working for MN care delivery systems in both leadership and technical roles. Her experience spans the areas of Data Analytics, Information Technology, Revenue Cycle and Finance. She also has advanced Lean training and experience in a healthcare setting, and is a graduate of the Advanced Training Program in clinical quality improvement through Intermountain Healthcare. The majority of her career has been focused on improving healthcare through the optimal implementation of data analytics and technology as a means to rapidly transform healthcare delivery.


Betsy currently serves as the Vice President of Clinical and Population Health Analytics for Fairview Health Services. In this role she supports the data and information needs for all clinical operations, quality and patient safety, and population health. She also has accountability for the enterprise data governance and analytic education programs. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from St. Mary’s University, is TOGAF certified, and keeps current countless of technical and EHR-related certifications. You can find her online as a guest on numerous podcasts and webinars related to healthcare data governance, or in her spare time with her band The Techtones; a group of technologists that love to play classic rock covers at local community events.

Past President - Todd Aldrich

Todd is one of the few national experts on EPIC/EHR implementations and brings over 16 years of experience within the healthcare. With a proven track record of success in complex, fast-paced environments, Todd is equally adept at establishing and mentoring teams during transition periods. A skilled communicator and valued relationship-builder, Todd's consulting skills have helped large scale, multi-departmental implementations as well as on-going support with million dollar budgets with healthcare information systems projects. Todd has helped roll out electronic medical record software at 26 hospitals and 50 plus clinics to date.

Secretary - Mary Kopriva

Mary is an experienced strategic, operational, & technical consultant with a strong background in the healthcare industry and over 25 years of proven ability to increase profitability and improve outcomes. She drives teams to meet business needs and corporate goals; presents plans and results to executive leadership; has domestic and international experience in healthcare/healthcare insurance, pharmaceutical, and technology services. Her expertise includes Project/Program Planning & Execution, Change Management & Operational Readiness, Process & Procedure Development, Business Development, Strategic Marketing & Sales, Resource Management, Training & Education, Public Speaking and she’s bilingual in Spanish.

Treasurer - Joel Morrison

Joel Morrison is currently Regional Sales Director at MEDARCUS. He has been involved in healthcare for over 20 years and he holds an AAS degree in Radiologic Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. His background includes roles as a radiologic technologist, PACS administrator, EHR administrator, clinic/billing manager, pharmacy technician, and application trainer. Joel has a strong foundation in the areas of implementation, integration, interoperability, account management, and strategic relationships. He has experience working for healthcare organizations including Ministry Health Care, Advanced Imaging, Bone & Joint Center, Siemens, Barco, and Nuance; his combined clinical and technical background benefit him in comprehending the entire healthcare IT ecosystem from the data center to the providers, and encompassing all areas in-between. Joel is also grateful for the 9 years he was able to serve our country in the Army.

Communications Chair - Saikat Basu Majumder

Saikat (Sai) is a intuitive and perceptive leader with a demonstrated history of 11 years of subject matter expertise in delivering integrated business solutions and building intuitive products with focus on delivering delightful consumer experience. Experience in leading cross-functional teams shipping consumer products across APAC, EMEA and North America regions. Excellent communicator and influencer, with aptitude for identifying critical business drivers and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver quality products, tools and services.

His engagement delivery experience spans across large and medium scale initiatives for multi-national organizations from Healthcare, Banking and Financial services, Government and Public Sector, Education, Entertainment Media, Manufacturing and IT/ITeS domain.

At Mayo Clinic, Sai is focusing on building commerce and consumer payments products, establishing a payments center of excellence to drive adoption of secure and frictionless digital payments platform, drive organization's PCI DSS compliance program, and maturing institutional technology assurance and risk management process.

Programs Chair - Rebecca Gallik

Rebecca Gallik has over 17 years of healthcare experience working for both large and rural health systems.  Throughout her career she has supported overall IT operations, EHR implementation and optimization, data analytics programs, and information security.  Rebecca joined Medtronic's Digital Health division in July of 2018 as a Senior Principal Technologist.  In her new position, Rebecca is responsible for supporting and building out a framework for engaging and partnering with Hospital IT leaders, as well as enabling the alignment of technology standards across Medtronic solutions with hospital requirements. Rebecca provides internal consulting services to Medtronic business units on the hospital IT ecosystem, EHR technical and data capabilities, and trends in health IT.  Rebecca has a passion for leveraging healthcare data to create value.

Rebecca holds a BA in Business Management, an MBA with concentrations in Healthcare Administration and IT Leadership, and is currently working on her MS in Data Analytics. She has held certifications by Epic in Inpatient Clinical Documentation from 2011 - 2018. In 2018 she was certified by ISACA as a Certified Information Security Manager.

Programs Elect - Vitaly Herasevich

Vitaly Herasevich, MD, PhD, MSc, CPHIMS is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, Division of Critical Care, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He has been involved in medical informatics for over 20 years, with a specific concentration on applied clinical informatics in critical care and the science of health care delivery.

He was born in Belarus, where he earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, and joined the Mayo Clinic in 2006. Later he finished MSc in clinical research at Mayo Clinic.

He codirects the Clinical Informatics in Intensive Care program as part of a research group that works to decrease complications and improve outcomes for critically ill patients through systematic research and quality improvement. He is interested in studying and developing clinical syndromic surveillance alerting systems (“sniffers”), clinical data visualization (novel patient-centered EMR), and health care predictive and prescriptive ambient intelligence. He is co-inventor of number of technologies including AWARE platform, resulting in technologies commercialization. He has coauthored 100 peer-reviewed articles and book Health Information Evaluation. As part of an education effort, Dr. Herasevich developed curriculums in clinical informatics to medical students, residents, fellows at the Mayo Medical School and Mayo Graduate School. He is Fellow of Society of Critical Care Medicine and active within informatics and professional societies serving on several committees.

Student Affairs Chair - Adam Carvel

Adam Carvel is the System Director of Analytics for Fairview Health Services.

Adam has worked in the Analytics space for over 15 years focused on value-based care, information architecture, and programming. 

Adam manages teams of analysts and engineers who focus on providing value to healthcare while aiming for innovation, patient centeredness, and learning through research. Adam is passionate about the incorporation of behavioral economics into analytics to create change and reduce waste.

Ram is the Medical Device Industry Solution Head at Virtusa, a Digital Transformation Company, and is responsible for:

Advocacy Chair - Dharani Ramamoorthy

Dharani Ramamoorthy is the CEO and founder of Xylo Technologies Inc. He has accumulated over fifteen (15) years of project management, systems administration, software development and IT consulting experience. His prior work experience includes companies such as Mayo Clinic, IBM and Seagate where he served as a senior IT consultant. His expertise covers a vast arena of programming languages, projects including: database driven web and client server applications. During his tenure as a consultant at Mayo, he was part of the team which developed an Enterprise Image Viewer application called QReads which is used by Clinicians to view different image modalities and the associated radiology reports in the same application.

Dharani’s passion for customer satisfaction is evidenced by Xylo’s growth from one person to a 65 employee business enterprise in 8 years. His vision is to make Xylo the most trusted provider of information technology consulting, work force management, project and staff augmentation services unrivaled in value. Clinical Informatics Chair - Sharon Kirby

Sharon is the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) for the Mayo Clinic enterprise. She is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of healthcare experience in a wide variety of specialty areas and over 10 years in nursing informatics and executive leadership. Prior to her current role, she was the CNIO of Centura Health in Colorado where she was a HIMSS Chapter board member.

Sharon’s responsibilities include providing strategic visionary leadership for the Mayo Clinic Informatics team across the enterprise to advance the utilization of clinical information systems and data consistent with the goals and objectives of the organization. She is a collaborative executive leader passionate about creating and implementing strategic data driven IT programs that improve business operations, patient safety and quality, and bottom-line profits.

Sharon has experience with multiple IT initiatives including EHR implementations, upgrades and optimizations. She is a member of the HIMSS Executive Institute and past member of the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Committee. She has presented on numerous healthcare IT related topics over her career.

She holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing with an informatics specialization and is ANCC board certified in nursing informatics. She is a previous recipient of the HIMSS Davies award as well as HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7.

Nursing Informatics Chair - Mischa Adams

Mischa Adams has been a nurse for over 19 years and holds a Masters in Nursing Informatics. She is currently a Clinical Outcomes Improvement, Director for Health Catalyst. She currently consults with health care systems across the country to use analytics for outcomes improvement work. She is also a member of the Big Data: Nursing Informatics Collaborative.

Mischa’s experience includes EMR development, nursing informatics application and education, data analytics, large system clinical program development and support, change management, and CMS Core Measures.
