President - Cushmeer Haines

Cushmeer H. Haines has more than 20 years of business development, enterprise technology solution sales and global account management experience working for companies such as IBM, Microsoft and Xerox. In addition, he has also held management and leadership positions at companies providing consulting, managed and strategic staffing solutions to clients in the Midwest area.

Currently, he serves as the Account Executive for Leidos Health, providing solutions that touch every primary aspect of the healthcare continuum from research to the patient bedside. Leidos Health works with a majority of the Federal organizations involved in healthcare as well as hundreds of health systems and hospitals.

Cushmeer received his BS in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University of Cleveland, Ohio, and an MBA from University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management in Strategic Management and Information & Decision Sciences. He has also completed the Mini-MBA in Health Care Information Management from the University of St. Thomas. He has been on the Minnesota HIMSS Board of Directors for over six years, serving on Programs, Sponsorship and currently as President Elect. Cushmeer also serves on various other boards, and is actively involved in the community where he has a passion for working with underprivileged youth and exposing them to various careers and opportunities in the field of Information Technology.

President Elect - Todd Aldrich

Todd is one of the few national experts on EPIC/EHR implementations and brings over 16 years of experience within the healthcare. With a proven track record of success in complex, fast-paced environments, Todd is equally adept at establishing and mentoring teams during transition periods. A skilled communicator and valued relationship-builder, Todd's consulting skills have helped large scale, multi-departmental implementations as well as on-going support with million dollar budgets with healthcare information systems projects. Todd has helped roll out electronic medical record software at 26 hospitals and 50 plus clinics to date.  

 

 

 

 

Past President - Muna Khan

Muna Khan has been in the healthcare field more than 16 years – all at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He started in the Department of Finance as a Revenue Analyst and supported various Revenue Cycle functions for three years. After that, he joined the Department of Management Engineering and Internal Consulting, where he currently serves as a Senior Principal Health Systems Engineer. The vast majority of his projects over the last 13 years have been in Health Information Technology, and Business Consulting and Strategy – primarily focusing on design, planning, implementation and optimization of the electronic health record (EHR) and other clinical applications. Muna has led many multi-disciplinary teams and managed several institutional and enterprise projects involving physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other members of the healthcare team. He was a member of the Electronic Health Record and Revenue Cycle Management Selection Committee. He was actively involved in developing business plans for Mayo Clinic's Office of Information and Knowledge Management and also served as an inaugural member of Mayo Clinic Rochester's Clinical Decision Support Committee. He has been on the HIMSS MN Board of Directors for five years previously serving as Director of Programs and Director of Sponsorship. He has an MBA from the Carlson School of Management in Information & Decision Sciences as well as Strategic Management, and also an MPH from Emory University. He lives near Eagan with his wife, two daughters and a son.

Liz Murphy

Liz Murphy is working for UHC in the area of Clinical Data Analytics and HEDIS.   Working directly with clinics and hospitals is her passion and helps her keep a close pulse on the ever changing world of Healthcare. As her responsibilities within HIMSS have increased, she has chosen to make HIMSS a primary focus for the next year.  Liz has been involved with Healthcare for 25 years, on the clinical side, provider side, payer side, and is very well versed with HIT.  Liz has held several leadership positions in Healthcare, touching various areas of the industry including Medicare, Medicaid, PBM, Clinical Management, Sales and Consulting.  She has completed various successful implementations, migrations and branding efforts in her career.  Liz is heading into her 8th year as a MN HIMS Board member and during this time, she has been working with Programs and Sponsorship. Along with her current leadership role as President of the MN Chapter, Liz is also serving as the co-chair for the Midwest Fall Technology Conference to be held in Minnesota November 13-15, 2016!  Liz holds a BA in English from the College of St Catherine’s and a MBA in Healthcare from The College of St Thomas.

Secretary, Mary Kopriva

Mary is an experienced strategic, operational, & technical consultant with a strong background in the healthcare industry and over 25 years of proven ability to increase profitability and improve outcomes. She drives teams to meet business needs and corporate goals; presents plans and results to executive leadership; has domestic and international experience in healthcare/healthcare insurance, pharmaceutical, and technology services. Her expertise includes Project/Program Planning & Execution, Change Management & Operational Readiness, Process & Procedure Development, Business Development, Strategic Marketing & Sales, Resource Management, Training & Education, Public Speaking and she’s bilingual in Spanish.

Programs Director - Dr. Jennifer Webber

Dr. Webber hold a doctorate degree in Chiropractic and Functional medicine as well as the distinction of Lean Sensei within the TPS discipline, and MS in Numerical Analysis. She has extensive experience in developing and leading re-engineering and strategic growth efforts in the fields of healthcare and finance. Her background as a data scientist and a clinician have allowed her to development a keen sense of how to proactively develop solutions in patient driven healthcare, predictive analytical evaluation, and cost effective health management services. Jennifer values cultivating long term relationships built on mutual trust and respect. Holding national accreditation for situational leadership implementations and as a lean six sigma master black belt, she has a proven track record developing high-performing, engaged teams that deliver substantial strategic contributions to the bottom line.

Jennifer's endeavors as a scholar are founded on maintaining the highest degree of ethics and integrity while always questioning established institutions to maintain relevancy and encourage change appropriately. Her global experience coaching organizational leaders to cultivate constructive conflict practices with positive, professional demeanor has afforded her to exposure to a wide range of industries. These experiences help to weave an ever growing appreciation for implementing holistic approached to problem solving. Knowing successful organizations are built by talented people with a passion for quality, Jennifer is able to share with leaders how to tap into this passion and keep teams engaged. Programs Elect - Bert Hill

Bert Hill is the co-founder of BAHAMA Consulting, a 15 year old HIT consulting firm serving hospitals nation-wide.

Bert has work in the Information Technology space for over 30 years. He has worked in various capacities from Partner, Project Manager, Business Development, Recruiter, to Programmer Analyst. He has worked in various industry verticals with the last 10 plus being in Healthcare. Treasurer, Joel Morrison

Joel Morrison currently serves as Healthcare Enterprise Account Executive for Connection Enterprise in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin. Joel has been involved in healthcare for over 20 years and he holds an AAS degree in Radiologic Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. His background includes roles as radiologic technologist, PACS administrator, EHR administrator, clinic/billing manager, pharmacy technician and application trainer. Joel has a strong foundation in the areas of implementation, integration, interoperability, account management and strategic relationships. He has experience working for healthcare organizations including Ministry Health Care, Advanced Imaging, Bone & Joint Center, Siemens and Nuance; his combined clinical and technical background benefit him in comprehending your entire healthcare IT ecosystem from the data center to the providers, and encompassing all areas in-between.

 

 

Communications Chair - Mitch Knutson

Mitch Knutson brings over five years of experience in the healthcare and IT space, most notably with BAHAMA Consulting as a Talent Advisor. In this position, Mitch worked closely with IT leaders of healthcare organizations in the Twin Cities by providing consulting services to implement, optimize and upgrade different business systems, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Currently, Mitch works for Infor, a computer software provider, in an Account Executive role. In this position, Mitch partners with organizations to help implement industry specific CloudSuite applications.

Chris Hanna is a 30-year veteran in the field of clinical imaging – spanning PACS, vendor-neutral archives, and imaging informatics. At Large Member - Betsy Keenan-Brown

Betsy has spent the past 15 years in healthcare working for MN care delivery systems in both leadership and technical roles. Her experience spans the areas of Data Analytics, Information Technology, Revenue Cycle and Finance. She also has advanced Lean training and experience in a healthcare setting, and is a graduate of the Advanced Training Program in clinical quality improvement through Intermountain Healthcare. The majority of her career has been focused on improving healthcare through the optimal implementation of data analytics and technology as a means to rapidly transform healthcare delivery.

 

Betsy currently serves as the Vice President of Clinical and Population Health Analytics for Fairview Health Services. In this role she supports the data and information needs for all clinical operations, quality and patient safety, and population health. She also has accountability for the enterprise data governance and analytic education programs. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from St. Mary’s University, is TOGAF certified, and keeps current countless of technical and EHR-related certifications. Member Relations - Olivia Peavler

Olivia Peavler currently serves as a Health Systems Engineer in the Department of Management Engineering & Internal Consulting at Mayo Clinic. For the past two years she has supported Mayo Clinic’s Center for Connected Care—the organization’s telemedicine and digital strategy group—in operational and strategic planning for acute care telemedicine needs. Her interests and skills include workflow analysis, project management, business development, and data analytics. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Loyola University New Orleans and a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Health Management and Policy from Saint Louis University. She also plays an active role in her community, serving on the Committee of Urban Design and Environment (CUDE) in Rochester, Minnesota, where she advises the City Council on issues relating to the city’s urban design and growth.

Jeff has over 25 years in IT Technical Services and Business Process Analysis. He has worked with companies to improve strategic business processes in the area of document workflow, print migration, network systems, tailored software, and integrated security solutions. Jeff works with local and national companies such as Medica, Allianz Life and HCMC.

 

As Loffler’s Chief Technology Officer, Jeff is part of the team responsible for strategic planning and management with a focus on healthcare IT.

 

 

 

Advocacy Chair, Dharani Ramamoorthy

Dharani Ramamoorthy is the CEO and founder of Xylo Technologies Inc. He has accumulated over fifteen (15) years of project management, systems administration, software development and IT consulting experience. His prior work experience includes companies such as Mayo Clinic, IBM and Seagate where he served as a senior IT consultant. His expertise covers a vast arena of programming languages, projects including: database driven web and client server applications. During his tenure as a consultant at Mayo, he was part of the team which developed an Enterprise Image Viewer application called QReads which is used by Clinicians to view different image modalities and the associated radiology reports in the same application.

Dharani’s passion for customer satisfaction is evidenced by Xylo’s growth from one person to a 65 employee business enterprise in 8 years.
