Webinar: OCR HIPAA Enforcement Shifts
OCR enforcement activity is up. Changes have been made to the Civil Monetary Penalties structure overall and HIPAA Security rule requirements related to COVID-19. Join us for this informative session to get caught up on these changes and discuss lessons learned from recent OCR investigations.
OCR enforcement activity is up. OCR completed proactive audits and reported significant gaps in compliance with HIPAA mandates including risk analysis and risk management. OCR also implemented a new structure for Civil Monetary Penalties in 2019. HHS and OCR have also implemented targeted exceptions for some HIPAA requirements during the COVID-19 crisis while leaving other core HIPAA Security Rule requirements in effect.
Join us on Friday, May 8th at 11AM EST to hear how covered entities are responding to OCR scrutiny by updating security risk registers, business associate inventories, breach notification practices, and more. Specific examples will be provided for sticking points often uncovered in OCR audits. We will also discuss trends in enforcement, fines, breaches, and required adjustments for COVID-19 HIPAA compliance.
