Membership Lead - Nadia Ayoubzadeh

Nadia Ayoubzadeh is currently the Director of Information Services and Clinical Engineering at Allina Health, a not-for-profit large health system. Nadia directly oversees the operations of a $45M organization that has been recognized as top tier in the country. For nearly two decades, Nadia has worked to transform and unify the medical device and information technology industries into a seamless experience for healthcare consumers. Respected as a technology savvy strategist, she led the successful design and launch of an advanced medical device cybersecurity program. She is now spearheading the transformation of IT and biomed from a transactional service to one that is delivering integrated and impactful innovation at an enterprise level. Previously, Nadia served as the Director of Quality, Technical Services, and Manufacturer Services at UHS/Agility, a medical device services organization. During this time she drove rapid revenue growth by establishing new national programs and increasing the quality of operations.

Nadia holds an MBA from Washington State University, a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of MInnesota, and is certified in Project Management, Six Sigma and ITIL. Nadia enjoys community building and is actively involved in mentoring and empowering children and pre-teens.

Chapter Operations Innovation Lead - Scott Feinberg

Scott Feinberg has worked in healthcare technology for nearly two decades with much of that time spent innovating within some of the largest companies in the world. He recently joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) within the Non-Profit Healthcare team identifying new ways to reduce cost yet innovate during these challenging times for our healthcare providers. 

Throughout his career, Scott has been viewed as a thought leader providing insight into new technologies, speaking at various international conferences and developing new innovative Telehealth solutions specifically while at UnitedHealth Group. With a deep passion for healthcare, he is always seeking ways to improve the patient experience while reducing cost for the healthcare delivery ecosystem.  

Scott received has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Minnesota. In addition to various Innovation & leadership awards, Scott also has his CPHIMSS and Amazon Cloud Practitioner Certification.

Programs Spring Conference Lead - Michael Zimmerman

Michael Zimmerman is a Registered Nurse with Allina Health.  After 9 years at Unity Hospital – Medical Oncology, Michael took the opportunity to join the Epic big-bang implementation team in 2003.  He moved into IS from the Implementation project and continues to love his role there.

Michael has been involved in the various informatics organizations from MiNING, CARING, and ANIA in the early years to leadership roles in MNEUG (MN Epic Users Group) for 12 years.  After many years of attending HIMSS MN Chapter  programs, Michael joined Programs Committee in 2019 and will continue that work as an At-Large Board Member

In addition to informatics work, Michael is a pianist.  He has played rehearsal accompanist and pit keyboard for Community Theatre and High School productions.  For the last 20 years primarily with Visitation School and St. Thomas Academy.

Strategic Planning Lead - Jolly Nanda

Jolly Nanda is the CEO of VIKRITI Management Consulting and Altheia Predictive Health.

Jolly has work in various technology, product and business operations in the healthcare space for over 16 years. She focuses on Strategic Planning and Change Management.

Prior to her work in the Healthcare sector, she worked in the technology sector with the Manufacturing and Retail verticals.

Jolly has a passion for driving efficiencies and is excited  She is excited to push the envelope of healthcare data solutions to reduce costs and improve outcomes for member populations.

Student Affairs Lead - Glenn Stolar

Glenn Stolar is the Health Industry Lead and a client service partner in Slalom’s Minneapolis office. His responsibilities include Healthcare Industry clients, key customer account relationships, and subject matter expertise in healthcare CRM, eCommerce, and supply chain.  Glenn has almost 30 years of business and IT leadership including 10 years in executive management roles, 20 years of consulting experience, and extensive design, implementation, and operation of business and technology systems.  Prior to joining Slalom, Glenn was the Senior Vice President for Global Commerce Operations at Digital River, where he was responsible for the call center, fraud, and client operations functions. Prior to Digital River, Glenn was a VP at UnitedHealth Group’s OptumInsight division and was a Partner at Accenture’s Healthcare and CRM practices. Glenn holds three patents including two in healthcare.

Chapter Relations Lead - Lindsay Hudson

Lindsay Hudson, PMP, is an account director on Nordic’s Client Partnerships team, serving healthcare organizations in Minnesota and the Northeast. She joined Nordic in 2013 and was instrumental in establishing the operational processes and technical infrastructure to support clients and employees, directing Nordic’s PMO and administration teams.

With a background in marketing and event management, Lindsay’s HIT career began in 2005 on Epic’s implementation team, serving primarily as an implementation director/executive. She was also a liaison between Epic’s implementation and training teams, including establishing the initial, formal super-user training program and consulting with clients on go-live and change management strategies.

Originally from Minnesota and a proud UW Badger, Lindsay relocated her family to the Twin Cities in 2018. She is passionate about leveraging strong operational and IT partnerships to drive innovation and organizational transformation.

Social Media Lead - Jessie Smith

Jessie Smith has been in the Healthcare IT space for around 8 years. Jessie has worn multiple hats in her career, such as recruiter, business development, partner manager, and account management. She has worked for two consulting firms helping drive business and specializing in Epic recruiting and sales and solutions around Epic. Jessie is relationship and network focused in all that she does. She believes that when we come together as a team we will succeed and that there is always an opportunity for everyone that crosses your path. Jessie currently is working as a Senior Independent Epic Recruiter, she is helping multiple clients with their recruiting needs through this very uncertain time in our industry until she finds her next home. 

Outside of work Jessie loves to spend time with her wonderful husband and very active ONE year old son. She also is passionate about activism and can be seen supporting equality for all and participating in her city's task forces to do the same.

Chapter Website Design and Engineering Lead - Matthew Firak

Matthew Firak is the LIS Technical Specialist for the Neuroimmunology Lab at Mayo Clinic. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2014 with a degree in Medical Laboratory Science. He has worked in the clinical laboratory for 6+ years and has recently been promoted to his position as an LIS Technical Specialist. Matthew is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Health Informatics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Communications Team Member - Dante Rand

Dante Rand is a technical architect and recognized leader with 25 years' experience providing architectural strategy, design, development, and implementation of large scale technical solutions.  As a solutions architect, Dante has led large-scale implementations such as a district-wide network and student accounting system, an enterprise VPN solution for a MN/DOT, as well as the selection, architect, and implementation of an enterprise master data management solution for Mayo Clinic.  As the next evolution in solution architecture, Dante is focused on providing technical and architectural direction for a pilot project embarking on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) through the Mayo Clinic Cloud (in partnership with Google).  Dante is active outside of work with traveling volleyball events, volunteering for local charities, and now working with us at MN HIMSS as part of the communications committee focusing on our digital strategy and presence.

Programs Team Member - Trevor Coons

Trevor Coons, MHA, FACHE, is passionate about Healthcare Information particularly in rural settings. Of his nearly 10 years of health care leadership experience, he has spent the majority of it supporting rural communities. Trevor is currently the operations manager for Mayo Clinic’s Community Division of Hospital Internal Medicine, supporting 20 different hospital’s (11 of which are critical access hospitals). Trevor sits on the Minnesota Governor’s Rural Health Advisory Committee, American College of Healthcare Executives – MN chapter board and is on the Olmsted County Public Health Services Advisory Board.

Programs Team Member - Rebecca Kohler

Rebecca is currently the Director of Clinical Informatics at Hennepin Healthcare, a level 1 trauma center and safety net health care system in Minneapolis.  She is passionate about ensuring that evidence-based clinical practice drives the implementation of technology, and that analytics are easily accessible and support decision making. 

Rebecca is a nurse by background, caring for patients from infancy to adulthood in both the clinic and hospital setting.  While studying for her MPH, she was a research coordinator.  She transitioned into the IS field when Hennepin was implementing Epic, and was an analyst, trainer, and later manager in the electronic health records department.  She moved into the newly developing Informatics department in 2014, and has seen that department quadruple in size and span of services within 3 years.

Rebecca is excited to partner with other organizations within Minnesota to advance the use of technology and analytics in health care.

Sponsorship Team Member - Melodie Neff

Melodie began her career in talent acquisition and vendor management 16 years ago after graduation from Hamline University with a B.A. in Political Science and going to work for Minneapolis based Target Corporation. She has spent 16 years providing innovative solutions to Fortune 500 medical, aerospace, retail, technology, and financial services companies and has a 360° viewpoint from being the client, agency, and consultant. Her passion to make a difference by propelling companies to the next level through creating win-win outcomes has aided in her success of mentoring teams and ensuring fulfillment is reached and exceeded. 

Melodie has always been drawn to helping others and making a positive impact on people’s lives. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota Chapter. In addition, she joined HIMSS Minnesota as a committee planning member for Programs and Events and Sponsorship in 2019. When she finds time to relax she enjoys traveling the world, attending concerts and live music events, watersports, skydiving, scuba diving, spending time with her English Bulldogs Zorra and Leo, and attending a variety of alternative workout classes.

Clinical Informatics Team Member - Mari Akre

Mari has served in several senior leader practice and operations roles. Currently, she is the Sr. Population Health Strategy Executive consultation for care delivery and practice redesign and innovation, a new division within Cerner Corporation. She brings deep bench strength across clinical and operational nursing and informatics. Mari seeks to adeptly weave together LEAN process improvement methods, data analytics, evidence-based practice content and clinical workflows with smart health information technologies, to support cross functional teams to produce results that improve operation and clinician efficiency, enhance clinical quality and nurse-sensitive outcomes, and strengthen patient safety. In partnership with physician informatics and clinical dyad leaders, operations leaders, clinician, and technology teams, 

Among her strategic operations accomplishments, she has led redesign efforts for clinical delivery of care management and utilization management in two health systems, and implementation of nursing clinical informatics teams in several integrated health systems. She has been integral in the practice transformation that arises from implementing health information technologies, clinical decision support solutions and revenue cycle information solutions, placing clinicians and patients at the center of the knowledge-based design solutions. 

Mari is Board certified through the American College of Nursing as a Nursing Executive-Advanced, NEA-BC and HIMSS International as a Certified Professional Health Information and Management Services, CPHIMS. She received her nursing baccalaureate from Viterbo University, Masters in Child and Family Development, University of WI-Madison, Masters in Nursing, Pediatrics and Research emphasis, University of WI-Madison, Doctorate in Child and Family Development, Dept of Human Ecology, University of WI-Madison, Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Nursing Informatics, University of WI-Milwaukee, College of Nursing. Mari also serves on the ANIA Midwest Chapter Board, member-at-large. Mari is active with the Nursing Big Data Consortium, University of MN, College of Nursing, serving on the Knowledge Information Modeling and Nursing Care Coordination working groups. Joining MN HIMSS chapter as a member at large and collaborator for clinical informatics programming specifically, I hope to bring greater visibility to the important integrator role of nursing informatics as a vital resource on the clinical practice and operations teams powering innovative change and care improvements.
